Reality TV viewers were appropriately fascinated by actress Elisse Joson when her romantic woes were dramatically played out like episodes in a teleserye in the “Lucky 7” edition of “Pinoy Big Brother” last year. It didn’t hurt that the damsel in distress was as lovely as she was vulnerable.
These days, Elisse is romantically linked to fellow “The Good Son” cast member McCoy de Leon, but the pretty 21-year-old actress also wants to be taken seriously for her acting chops.
Our quick Q&A with Elisse:
Has it always been your childhood dream to be an actress? Ever since I was a child, my mom kept pushing me to take acting workshops, because I’ve always been very shy. It wasn’t really because she wanted me to pursue acting. All she wanted for me was to find something that would boost my self-confidence. It was also because of those workshops that I started dreaming for myself. I realized that acting was something I could do someday.
What did she find most challenging in PBB? It was difficult to be yourself and show it to the world. That isn’t easy to do when you’re surrounded by a lot of cameras. It was a challenge to be “real” and devoid of inhibitions—that was tough.
What is your dream role? I want to portray dual roles with conflicting personalities, sort of bida-kontrabida characters. That would be cool to pull off.
Favorite actor, singer or performer: My list includes Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Yeng Constantino, KZ Tandingan and Moira dela Torre.
Where do you always hang out? Home or at the mall.
Closest friends in the business: Sofia Andres, Michelle Vito and Claire Ruiz—we share the same handler.
What are your pet peeves? I don’t like seeing hair on the floor, kasi parang ang dumi ’pag may ganoon.
Favorite food: Anything with suka (vinegar), like chicharon.
Who is your biggest crush? Zac Efron, because I’m a huge fan of “High School Musical.”
What is your best asset? My eyes.
