After withholding her latest No. 1 album, “Reputation,” from streaming services for three weeks, pop superstar Taylor Swift and her team have finally lifted the said “boycott.”
As of Friday, the album, which spawned the hit “Look What You Made Me Do,” is now available in such platforms as Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon.
The move by Taylor is seen as a marketing strategy, however. And if it were, it sure worked, according to the New York Times. “Reputation” sold 1,216,000 copies in the United States on its first week; the following week, another 232,000, the report, citing Nielsen, said. — ALLAN POLICARPIO
