A lot can be said about Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is one of the last true all-American pop stars today.

No longer can we find someone like her because over the time she has been around she has now proven to become a rarity. That is the main reason why her professional career has always been so well handled and looked after by her management.

As much as Taylor Swift is a modern artist in every sense of the word, on paper and upon first glance one could readily mistake her for an American artist from yesteryear, just a much slimmer version. Taylor Swift has that unmistakable look that has helped her greatly gain mass appeal to a demographic looking for something “familiar” to them.

In fact, a large portion of Taylor Swift fans is coming from the older generation. These are the people who grew up listening and idolizing western and country artists that go as far back to the 70’s. Taylor Swift does remind them of said past artists if they were to base that only on visual appeal, and to a certain degree on the general tone of some of her songs.

Taylor Swift has become one of the highest earning artists ever. The stat sheets show that she does rake in the high numbers whether that be in album sales (digital and physical copies) or in her concerts (in her native country and overseas) which are often either a sell out or sold out.

While those are some of the things Taylor Swift has going for her, a lot of things, however, can also be said about Taylor Swift that are not pleasant to hear nor would they be beneficial to her reputation.

For one–and I do not say this to pull down any Taylor Swift fan–as I am just saying this the way I see and hear it, Taylor Swift, as big as a global superstar she has become, is not a great singer. Her vocal skills are average at best.

To make her appear and feel like a complete package of an artist all other aspects about her besides her singing had to be made up for. So that what is painfully lacking in her, specifically her voice, would not be too obvious to most Taylor Swift fans.

Taylor Swift is not the most terrible singer out there but she is not the best either by any stretch of the imagination. It raises the question: would she have become as successful as she is now if she came up in the 80’s or 90’s? In my estimation, and due to the overwhelming number of competitions in those two said decades, I would have to say, No.

Now, with everything said about Taylor Swift, the one thing that no one can ever deny is that she is very relevant to today’s pop culture, mainstream media, social media, a gossip-hungry crowd, and to the music industry. Any time people also pay as much attention to the personal life and not only the activities of the artist, that means she holds much importance to them for some reason.

And what is that reason? It is that they simply can’t get enough of Taylor Swift no matter how much they try to look away or ignore her.

And that means, too… Taylor Swift is here to stay.
