Veteran broadcast journalist Atom Araullo is set to debut on GMA’s award-winning documentary program “i-Witness” with his story “Rohingya Crisis: Silang Kinalimutan.”

After his highly-anticipated “Philippine Seas” documentary, Araullo recently headed off to Bangladesh to personally see the situation of the Rohingya people, the stateless ethnic group who escaped Myanmar due to brutal military attacks.

Having no permanent country to live in, most Rohingya natives have spread across Bangladesh and other neighboring countries.

As an advocate for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Araullo seeks to help spread further awareness about their issue in the international scene.

He posted some photos on his encounter with the Rohingya people on Instagram. With a great passion for photography, he has dramatically captured the plight of the Rohingyas in his story-telling photos in black and white.

Araullo’s “i-Witness” documentary on the Rohingya crisis will air on GMA on Dec. 2, after “Celebrity Bluff.” /atm
