Queen of All Media Kris Aquino blasted what she brands “fake news” after she was quoted to have said an intriguing statement which she denied. Moreover, she called out the post for its use of wrong grammar.
Aquino secured a screen grab of the said post from a certain Jhun Chatto Paylangco who linked the controversial post to pro-Duterte page “Yes to Federalism, NO to drugs.”
The post said Aquino had an interview with TV host/talent manager and good friend Boy Abunda about the possibility of running against internet personality and Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson in race to the Senate.
She was quoted to have said, “Siguro masyado lang akong na-cha-challenge (Maybe I was just too challenged), I’m not sure yet but just in case she pursue her candidacy, “If Mocha can do it, why can’t I diba? I will do my best to beat her, at least in the Senate race.”
Paylangco then answered Aquino in his closing statement, “Talaga Kris? Sino naman kaya ang susuporta sayo? (Really Kris? Who will support you then?) Kung PCOS machine?? we will never vote again no to Aquino!!”
The author of the post also encouraged the public to share the said post.
Aquino did not let this pass without slamming the “fake news” point by point.
First, she clarified that she never had any recent interview with Abunda for any medium. In fact, their last communication was over two months ago “when he was turning over a few more endorsement details to my current management team.”
She then threw in her on-point slam.
Blasting off its incorrect English, she stressed that she is always watchful of her use of correct English grammar and will never commit such an obvious mistake.
She even corrected the grammatically incorrect supposed quote of hers.
“Kung sino man po ang nagsulat nito (whoever wrote this) – if you will choose to invent quotes from me- GALINGAN NYO NAMAN (Please do better next time). I am a stickler for correct grammar and subject-verb agreement: it isn’t IN CASE SHE PURSUE HER CANDIDACY, I need to correct you: it is IN CASE SHE PURSUES HER CANDIDACY,” she wrote.
Holding an AB English Literature degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and hailing from a family of highly educated people, Aquino is publicly known to be among the most intelligent people in local showbiz. Given her smarts, she was often encouraged to try taking on a government post.
Hence, she was more irritated by the use of incorrect grammar much more than the subject matter itself.
” I know i am weird, hindi ako sa subject matter nairita, nabwisit ako na wrong grammatical quote ang na attribute sa ‘kin,” she added.
(I know I am weird, I wasn’t pissed at the subject matter, I was more irritated with the use of wrong grammatical quote that was attributed to me)
On the contrary, she even thanked Paylangco for leveling her online influence to that of Uson’s given that she’s only new to the internet platform.
“That being said, whoever you are Jhun & to the media team doing this you do have my GRATITUDE. Because in the online world, Ms. Uson is a “unicorn”… And I am a newbie. Yet you have elevated me by this comparison to her status #Bongga,” she wrote.
She then asked for a small favor from the author of the post, “while i just remitted an online VAT payment for October 2017 of P2,164,429.67- let me just continue working in peace?”
Before she ended, she clarified that “Politics isn’t in my brain right now, sa kakagawa nyo ng ganitong balita baka in the end mapilitan akong bilin from Culture Club ang rights to their song KARMA CHAMELEON as my campaign jingle.”
(… as you guys keep on inventing such things about me, I might just be forced to buy the rights to the song “Karma Chameleon” from the Culture Club to serve as my campaign jingle)
Looking at the Facebook profile of Paylangco, the post which Aquino screen grabbed was no longer visible. It also appears that he has dedicated his Facebook page to support the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Noticeably, his recent posts bore “No posts to show.”
Scanning further, his last post was dated Nov. 1.
