Miss World 2013 Megan Young felt disappointed when she did not see the name of the country’s bet on the envelope she had to read aloud during this year’s pageant.

On a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday, Young said that she prayed for Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann to have her moment on the coronation night held in Sanya, China.

“I was upset but as they say, the show must go on,” Young added. She served as one of the pageant’s host for the fourth consecutive year.

The beauty queen further said that Lehmann’s plan of having a milk bank in the maternity ward of the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila was already an achievement.

“You have SAVED and CHANGED lives. I am so proud of you and your strength and positivity. Thank you for shining a bright light on the people around you, Lau,” Young said of Lehmann.

As we board our flight back to Manila, I can’t help but think about last night. Not being able to read your name was the toughest because I really wanted and prayed for this moment for you! I was upset but as they say, the show must go on. I went back to my room and realized that even though it may not have been the winning outcome I had hoped for you, I knew you were a winner in the hearts of many parents and children of Jose Reyes Memorial hospital. At your age, being able to provide a hospital with a MILK BANK is a WIN already. You have SAVED and CHANGED lives. I am so proud of you and your strength and positivity. Thank you for shining a bright light on the people around you, Lau ✨ I am so proud to be your friend and sister. Thank you for inspiring me. Always. Love you, Lau! 👑

The moment they announced the Beauty With A Purpose Winners!!! 🙊 Eeeek I was so happy. :) 🙈 Because Beauty With A Purpose is really the reason I chose to join Miss World. :) Watching everyone’s project was so inspiring & it made me so happy because some girls are really doing some amazing things. ❤️ My roommate Linh gave electricity to an isolated village while Tya made sure no one in hers would ever go hungry again. Sustainability at its finest & those are just 2 out of 118! Most of the videos are up on YouTube & I hope they make your day a little bit brighter like they did for me. :) Click the link in my bio to watch my video!
