Fil-Brit Bailey May officially announced as member of int’l pop group Now United

Filipino-British talent Bailey May is officially a member of the global pop group Now United.

The announcement was made on Now United’s social media accounts:

The group is a creation of Simon Fuller, who is best known for conceptualizing hit shows “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” He was manager to pop sensation Spice Girls.

According to Radyo Inquirer, music producer Simon Cowell noticed May’s talent and has bought out the teen’s contract from ABS-CBN.

May broke into the local showbiz scene through “Pinoy Big Brother: 737” where he came in fourth place.

The 15-year-old is the only Filipino in the group. Other Filipino contenders were Ylona Garcia, Jane de Leon and AC Bonifacio.

Teen performers from around the world attended a bootcamp in Los Angeles to become members.

The 10 other members that have been announced are Lamar Morris from the United Kingdom, Josh Beauchamp from Canada, Shivani Paliwal from India, Heyoon Jeong from South Korea, Any Gabrielly from Brazil, Hina Khan from Japan, Noah Urrea from the United States, Diarra Sylla from Senegal, Joalin Loukamaa from Finland and Sofya Plotnikova from Russia.

The group will be launched in 2018.
