Actress Maria Isabel Lopez drew flak from Facebook users after she drove through the designated lanes for the delegates of the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
In her Facebook post on Saturday evening, Lopez said she removed the divider cones separating the special lane, and drove with hazard signals on.
Other motorists behind followed her, she said, while Metropolitan Manila Development authority (MMDA) enforcers “thought she was an official Asean delegate.”
“Driving with hazards “on” at the #aseanlane I removed the divider cones !! Then all the other motorists behind me followed! MMDA thinks I’m an official ASEAN delegate! If u can’t beat ‘em, join them! #nosticker#leadership #belikemaria #pasaway #selfpreservation,” Lopez said.
Her post did not sit well with some social media users who criticized her “lack of discipline.” Some netizens also commented on her “setting a bad example.”
