Entertainment website TMZ recently reported that Selena Gomez’s battle with lupus, which prompted her to get a kidney transplant, made Justin Bieber realize “how much she still meant to him.”
TMZ, citing sources close to the couple, said Selena’s family had misgivings about the prospect of her reuniting with Justin, who was described as “vile.”
The family also allegedly blames Justin for Selena’s “severe bout of depression.”
However, Justin was persuasive and eventually won Selena over.
TMZ also belied reports that Justin sparked Selena’s breakup with singer The Weeknd. Selena and The Weeknd’s romantic relationship had been reportedly “fizzling out” since summer because of their respective busy schedules.
Close call for Josh Groban
“A close call” with a terrorist attack in New York City had Josh Groban “shaking.”
In a series of posts on Twitter, the 36-year-old singer-actor related that he was only “half a block away” from the area, where a man reportedly drove through a crowd of pedestrians—eight of whom were killed.
“I’m shaking. That’s the corner I was supposed to have my coffee, but my dog pulled me into the park,” said Josh, who also heard gunshots being fired by the police as he and his dog fled to safety.
“Devastated for the victims and their families tonight, and inspired by the spirit of this city,” he added, paying tribute to those affected by the tragic incident.
Mariah Carey’s imprint ceremony
Mariah Carey didn’t mind getting down and dirty for this one.
The pop icon recently pressed her hands—and Louboutin heels—onto wet cement, as part of TCL Chinese Theatre’s famous handprint ceremonies, which commemorates Hollywood’s biggest stars.
“Oh my God, please! I’m so happy and honored to be here. This is like a childhood dream. It’s awesome,” Mariah told Entertainment Tonight. “I have seen pictures of the moment, and this is, like, the real version of it.”
“They weren’t the most comfortable, but I will always remember what they were for,” said the singer-songwriter, who’s a big fan of Marilyn Monroe, who also has her hand prints displayed outside the theater.
“I have this picture of Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell when they were doing their imprint ceremony. It’s an iconic photograph, and I have it hanging in my living room. It’s humbling,” she told Variety. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
