Singer Josh Groban never imagined that while he was just about to have his usual stroll with his dog, he would be close to a shooting scene, as gunshots were fired in Manhattan, New York, during the Tuesday terror attack, Oct. 31.

The gunshots he heard were supposedly from the police responding to a terror attack waged by a 29-year-old Uber driver, who rammed down pedestrians and bicyclists near the World Trade Center area. The act resulted to the death of eight people, with 11 more injured.

Groban, as stated in one of his Twitter posts, was on his way to get coffee when his dog pulled him back into a park, just 10 minutes before the shooting. He stated that he heard eight to ten shots ringing out a block away from where he was standing.

Groban then took a video of how police quickly responded to the scene. He expressed sympathies for the families of those affected. He was also “inspired by the spirit of this city.”

The suspect, Sayfullo Saipov, has underwent surgery due to the gunshots. He is expected to recover. As per reports, records show that the Uzbekistan native came to the United States in 2010.

In a report by The Guardian, witnesses claim that the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar,” Arabic for “God is great,” during the attack. JB
