Weeks ago, actor Ben Affleck apologized to actress and former “TRL (Total Request Live)” host Hilarie Burton for a groping incident in the show, back in 2003.
Affleck wrote on Twitter after it was brought up, “I acted inappropriately toward Ms Burton, and I sincerely apologize.” This was after Burton posted, “I didn’t forget.”
Her husband, “Walking Dead” actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, recently asked by Entertainment Tonight if he was happy about the apology, said, “Of course … everything that’s come out in the last couple of weeks, starting with [allegations against] Harvey Weinstein—anybody who has talked about it and even those who haven’t yet are incredibly brave, and I think it’s time for change.”
Burton has yet to respond to the apology. The former “One Tree Hill” and current “Lethal Weapon” actress and Morgan have a 7-year-old son, and are expecting baby No. 2.
Old cartoon lion ‘turns gay’
A cartoon character that debuted in 1959, Snagglepuss is a sophisticated and effeminate mountain lion. He’s finally coming out of the closet—or at least, his reimagined version is.
In the six-issue DC Comics series, “Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles,” the old Hanna-Barbera character is now a “gay Southern gothic playwright” in 1950s New York.
Writer Mark Russell told hilobrow.com of the title’s relevance: “In a lot of ways, that frees me up to say what I think about what’s going on in the world now, just putting it in the context of 1953 America.” —OLIVER PULUMBARIT
