The restored version of Mike de Leon’s “Batch ’81” will have its Philippine premiere Oct. 28, at TriNoma Cinema 2. It will be the closing film of the QCinema International Film Festival. Its world premiere was held in September at the Venice Classics Section of the Venice International Film Festival.

The restoration was funded by the Asian Film Archive in Singapore and the film was restored in 4K at L’Immagine Ritrovata in Italy.

Before the screening, at 7 p.m. will be the launching of a new book, “Batch ’81—The Making of a Mike de Leon Film,” written by Jerome Gomez and designed by Cesar Hernando.

The book is in full color and contains over 150 rare photographs, incisive interviews of the cast and crew, photos of deleted scenes, as well as the first draft of the original screenplay.
