Cristine—from ‘maldita’ to ‘civil’

Actress Cristine Reyes on being perceived as maldita (hard-headed or stubborn), and whether motherhood has mellowed her down: “Aminado naman ako, people see me as one—hindi naman nawala ang pagka-maldita ko. For me, I’m just being transparent or real, which throws some people off because they want me to be pa-sweet and pa-tweetums—which I’m not,” she told reporters recently.

“But, I have toned down when it comes to dealing with issues or bashers on social media,” Cristine added. “I just opt to be civil.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
