‘Star Wars’ Han Solo movie gets title, wraps up production

After hitting turbulence on directorial duties, the “Star Wars” Han Solo spinoff has finished production and finally has a title.

Director Ron Howard made the announcement on Twitter in a short video:

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is set for release in 2018 after “months of post production.”

Howard took the reins after Phil Lord and Christopher Miller left due to creative differences in June.

He has been sharing updates on the film through his social media accounts, like Emilia Clarke having finished principal photography in late September, and Thandie Newton returning for new scenes.

Donald Glover, who plays Lando Calrissia, finished his work back in August. Fans won’t forget him as Hans’ friend in “The Empire Strikes Back”.

In Oct. 15, he teased that Tag and Bink, characters from a comic book series that spoofed Star Wars, would join the movie.

The two Jedi, while minor characters, accidentally cause major events in the Star Wars Universe.

“Solo” writer Jon Kasdan said he is a “huge fan” of the comics.

“I had to get ’em in there, and then had to play it myself (with Toby Hefferman) to do it justice,” he quipped to “Tag and Bink” creator Kevin Rubio on Twitter.

The standalone film follows a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and his adventures in the Galaxy with Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) prior to the first 1977 film.

The cast includes Woody Harrelson as a criminal and Hans’ mentor Beckett, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. JB
