An interesting topic is worth repeating. So here’s part two of my forum on celebrities who were naughty or nice in 2011, by their own reckoning.
Santa’s job would be so boring if we all fell under one list. The naughty ones provide spice, while the nice ones are the saving grace.
I’ve always been naughty by nature. But I can be nice when naughtiness fails. So while Santa is at it, let mischief and kindness make a delightful mix, so Christmas would be equally fun and blissful. Ho ho ho ho! Behave or be wild. Santa’s watching…
Dingdong Dantes: “The nicest thing I did this year was to admit that there were only very rare naughty moments.”
Ogie Alcasid: “I have been naughty. I believe I have overworked myself this year with my show-biz commitments and advocacies. Our newborn son came at a time when I was immensely busy. I’m thankful that I have been blessed with a real supportive and understanding wife. I shall make adjustments for 2012.”
Verni Varga: “I would definitely be included under Santa’s ‘nice’ list but I can’t reveal why. Only God knows.”
Richard Gomez: “Lucy and I were nice especially to our people in Ormoc and the fourth district of Leyte by giving them genuine public service. They realized that if projects were implemented properly without corruption, we can actually build longer and wider roads to benefit everyone.”
Christian Bautista: “My mom has been healed of cancer. Her being healthy is one of the biggest gifts to me. The first time I gave her a big hug after we found out that she has recovered is the nicest thing I’ve ever felt and done.”
Benjie Paras: “I was at my nicest when I shared my blessings with the needy. I was at my naughtiest when I forgot most of my inaanak.”
Jed Madela: “I’ve been blessed in 2011 with a new album, album awards, concerts here and abroad. So I wanted to pay it forward. The nicest thing I’ve done this year was to spend my birthday with the elders in Golden Acres. It was such a fulfilling experience.”
Arnell Ignacio: “I don’t know if Santa’s list includes people who bravely do the right thing, like filing cases against erring law enforcers when nobody dared to. Edu Manzano was so kind because he shouldered all the expenses and he gave me a competent lawyer (Resty Meneses). If Santa thinks that’s nice, I’ll probably get a medal or a life insurance from heaven.”
IC Mendoza: “I’ve been naughty all my life. The naughtiest thing I did this year was to bring home a traffic cone just for kicks. But I returned it after a few days. Nakaka-tense when I was reprimanded for it and naawa naman ako sa traffic enforcer sa Resorts World. Baka ibawas sa suweldo niya yun. So I guess I was also nice naman after being naughty. So balanced lang. Chos!”
Christine Bersola Babao: “I think I was naughty enough to be nice this year. Kidding! Predictably, though, I’m more nice than naughty.”
Mr. Fu: “I was so naughty when I did an ambush interview with Phil Younghusband and Angel Locsin for ‘Paparazzada.’ It was my first time to meet them. I asked Phil if he would marry me. He immediately said yes and even thought of a wedding date. So every time I see him, I would remind him. Game naman siya. Sorry Angel, ako na! May ganun?”
‘Panday’ legacy
The successful professional partnership of Sen. Bong Revilla and Carlo J. Caparas is expected to set box-office records in the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival with Carlo J Caparas’ “Ang Panday 2.”
“Ninong FPJ gave me his blessings to carry on the Panday legacy,” Bong beams. “I owe it to him to take care of the character and the franchise.”
In the movie’s latest incarnation directed by Mac Alejandre, Bong’s leading ladies are Marian Rivera and Iza Calzado. Lorna Tolentino, Lucy Torres and Alice Dixson are cast in special roles while Phillip Salvador plays the major villain. Bong is out to show that indeed walang papantay sa Panday!
