Six seasons and two movies of “Sex and the City” later, actress Kim Cattrall said she won’t reprise her go-getter character, Samantha Jones, for a third film, she repeatedly declared on social media and in interviews.
On Instagram, the 61-year-old actress told a fan, “I can’t [do it again]. My heart isn’t in it anymore. I’ve moved on—61 isn’t 53 or 41. I learned so much from Sam. She was my hero, but I want to rest and not work as much as I have been doing for years. I want a less hectic life… I hope you understand.”
The drama about the shelved project started after longtime costar Sarah Jessica Parker announced in a TV interview that the movie was not happening. Castmate Kristin Davis said on Instagram, “It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter. So we will just have our memories.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
