Dara fondly recalls impromptu performance with G-Dragon
When Dara performed with Big Bang member G-Dragon during his concert in Manila last September, the K-Pop world rejoiced and the fans couldn’t contain their glee.
On Tuesday, Dara, more popularly known as Sandara Park to her Filipino fans, revealed that the number she did with G-Dragon was actually impromptu and unrehearsed.
“We didn’t have a chance to rehearse for it… but it turned out okay so we’re happy,” she told INQUIRER.net in an exclusive interview during the launch of a new shampoo product she is endorsing with Thai superstar Mario Maurer.
“It was a very fun experience because we got to perform again after eight years,” said the 32-year-old Busan-born singer-actress.
Asked if she’s still in communication with G-Dragon, she replied: “Yes, I’m close with Big Bang and other artists under YG [Entertainment].”
Article continues after this advertisementAs for the K-Pop superstar’s next project after her judging stint on “Pinoy Boyband Superstar,” she said she has offers to do movies in the Philippines and that she’s only waiting for the script.
Article continues after this advertisementBack in Korea, meanwhile, the former 2NE1 member said she would like to pursue music again and that she’s already working on a new project.
“I just couldnt promise when it will come out,” she said, adding that no K-Drama is lined up for her as of the moment.
Dara became popular as a teenager in the Philippines when she joined a reality show on ABS-CBN. She became a global sensation as a part of the all-girl group 2NE1 whose hits include “Fire,” “I Don’t Care,” and “I Am The Best.” She understands and speaks fluent Filipino. Don Lejano, INQUIRER.net
