Could it be true that John Lloyd Cruz is quitting show biz and leaving the country for good? How true is it that the actor left a special power of attorney for his family’s needs?

Reports have it that some of his endorsements have allegedly already pulled the plug.
Last Friday, ABS-CBN issued a press statement announcing that the network and John Lloyd “have agreed for him to take an indefinite leave of absence to attend to personal matters.”

“John Lloyd will be taking a break outside the country and will return to ABS-CBN after his leave of absence,” the statement said.
A network insider insists that the actor has allegedly not reported for the taping of his show, “Home Sweetie Home,” for two weeks now.

FEATURED STORIES

Has John Lloyd decided on his exit strategy after his controversial Cebu-escapade videos (which went viral) with Ellen Adarna and their friends were generally perceived as “foolish and strange” behavior?

Maybe he got so drained and just wanted to enjoy his hard-earned money away from prying eyes and the maddening show biz circus.

Hopefully, John Lloyd will just take a brief hiatus, so after being “burned out,” he’ll be all fired up to act again.

Spooky film and Xander Ford

What spookier way to welcome the Halloween month than by watching the horror flick, “The Debutantes,” about a debut party that turns bloody. It’s topbilled by Sue Ramirez, Miles Ocampo, Chanel Morales, Michelle Vito and Jane de Leon. Think “Carrie” meets “Mean Girls.”

Here’s my chat with Sue (S), Miles (M) and Chanel (C):

What’s the best and toughest part of being a millennial?

S: Life is so convenient for us now, unlike girls during the preinternet era. These days, everything is just a click away. The downside is, we are slaves to technology. We spend too much time communicating online than with the people around us.

M: We get to pick our priorities. We have the freedom to do whatever we want. But, the disadvantage is, we have to be more responsible and be more careful with our every move.

C: We’re more creative, career-oriented and are techies. The tough part is how to handle the power and influence of social media.

What do you find hard to understand about boys?

S: I don’t think boys are hard to understand.

M: Why some boys don’t know how to treat girls right.

C: Why some boys don’t express what they really think and feel.

Are you more pressured or excited about being one of Regal Films’ new “It Girls”?

S: I’m excited for everyone to see what we worked so hard to accomplish. But, there’s also pressure that comes with it.

M: I’m just too grateful for the big break, so there’s no room for pressure.

C: I’m excited because being part of Regal has opened many doors.

What will you remember most about shooting the movie?

S: Spending my birthday on the set.

M: Shooting a horror film is usually draining. But, in our case, everything was light.

C: When I could hardly breathe during the pool scene.

What are your thoughts on Xander Ford? If you were not born beautiful, would you also undergo cosmetic surgery?

M: If his transformation has made him a happier guy and has made him believe in himself more, then so be it. Cosmetic surgery has not crossed my mind.

C: I’m pronatural, and I really appreciate everything that God has given me. But, it’s up to other people if they want to enhance their looks.
