Kapamilya teen star Maymay Entrata expressed her support for her good friend, singer-actor-TV host Marlo Mortel who is set to stage a benefit concert for his ailing mom. The concert is called “Songs for Mama”.
In a recent Instagram post, the former Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 housemate thanked those who support Mortel’s cause. Mortel’s mom is sick with stage four breast cancer.
In Entrata’s lengthy Instagram post, she commended Mortel for his efforts to help raise funds for the medication of his sick mom.
She wrote, “‘God will make a way’ at tayo ang daan para matulungan ang isa sa mga kaibigan ko na lahat gagawin para kanyang Ina. Sino ba naman ang anak na susuko lang ng basta-basta sa kanyang Ina? Halos lahat tayo ramdam natin ang sakit na nararamdaman ni Kuya marlo. Hindi ko hinihingi ang inyong pag tulong dahil ang pag tulong ay hindi obligasyon. Kaya ngayon palang nag papasalamat na po ako sa pupunta, prayers, at suporta nyo po sa concert na ito.”
(God will make a way and we are the instruments to help out a good friend who’s willing to do everything for his mother. What child would give up so easily on his mother? Almost all of us feel the pain that [brother] Marlo feels. I am not asking for your help, helping out should not be an obligation. As early as now, I am already thanking those who will go, those who are praying for his mom and those who will support this concert.)
In Mortel’s recent guesting on ABS-CBN’s daily morning talk show “Magandang Buhay”, the singer was not able to contain his emotions when he read the letter sent to the show by his sick mother. His reaction also made hosts Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros cry.
Aside from Entrata, fellow Kapamilya stars Kisses Delavin, Michael Pangilinan and Jed Madela will be guesting at Mortel’s concert.
“Songs for Mama” will be staged on Oct. 13, 8 p.m. at The Elements, Centris, in Quezon City. JB
