Coco Martin and Maria Angelica “Mariel” De Leon via De Leon’s Instagram
Miss International Philippines 2017 Maria Angelica “Mariel” de Leon has just experienced her first motorcycle ride. But she didn’t seem much too scared because she was well secured and taken care of by no less than award-winning actor Coco Martin.
In a recent Instagram post, the beauty queen-turned-actress uploaded a photo of her riding a motorcycle with her arms wrapped around Martin. The photo was from a scene in her debut film, “Ang Panday,” an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2017.
She wrote, “First time ko eh! At least it’s with @mr.cocomartin hahaha.”
Besides being the lead actor in the film, Martin is also its director. According to reports, he even sought permission from De Leon’s actor parents, Sandy Andolong and Christopher de Leon, to have the beauty queen in the film, and explained their daughter’s role to them. He also promised to take care of her on the set.
In past interviews, De Leon was quoted to have said she’s open to do a kissing scene with Martin. /ra
