A still hurting Sharon Cuneta has turned down what she perceives as the last-minute invitation to the glittering gathering of ABS-CBN’s stars, the Star Magic Ball 2017, tonight at the Makati Shangri-La hotel.
In her Instagram post on Friday, the megastar uploaded a photo of the invitation for the 11th annual Star Magic Ball, which bore the name of Sen. Francis and Mrs. Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan. Before posting Star Magic’s invitation, she vented her hurt feelings, saying she had not been invited to the ball.
In her latest post she thanked ABS-CBN’s talent arm Star Magic for “delivering our invitation to your Ball one day before. Wish we could go, but I have nothing spectacular to wear and there obviously isn’t any more time.”
“Sayang. I also had my assistant relay to Winnie yesterday when she asked for our address (no one in ABS knows my address?) that it was okay and unnecessary kasi nga wala nang oras.” she continued.
At the end of her post, she blew off the very meaning of the network’s tag of endearment “Kapamilya (Part of Family),”stressing that if indeed “Kapamilya” is true to its word and all Kapamilya artists are expected at the event, she very well deserved a special place, having been with ABS-CBN for 25 years or since the foundation of its talent arm. Also, she has stayed even longer than most talents in its roster. But leaving her out of the invite list or inviting her at the last minute surely did not sit well with her.
“It’s really alright, my ‘kapamilya,’ though you didn’t have to send it na at the last minute. Have fun at your Ball, everyone. God bless. (Oh and Happy 25th Anniversary. I’ve been with ABS-CBN for 25 years as well (29 sana if I didn’t leave in 2011).)”

Cuneta hosted her own hit variety program ,”The Sharon Cuneta Show,” which aired on the network from 1986 to 1997.
She then went on to do talk shows and hit movies with the network. Her portrait now hangs in the hallway leading to the studios inside the network’s building. /ra
