Last year, comic book writer Greg Rucka confirmed that DC’s most prominent heroine, Wonder Woman, is indeed bisexual.

With the sequel to the successful standalone “Wonder Woman” film slated for 2019, some fans are now demanding that this development should translate into the big screen.
A Change.org petition by Gianna Collier-Pitts aptly entitled “Make Wonder Woman bisexual” has been making the rounds online recently.
“All I ask is that Warner Bros. directly acknowledge Diana Prince for who she is, who she has always been (regardless of her current love interest), and what her character could potentially represent for millions of people,” the former student ambassador for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation (GLAAD) wrote.
Collier-Pitts added that Warner Bros. should do the character right by accurately portraying her sexuality in the sequel, as the subject was often alluded to in the comics in the past.
“One of the first things I learned is that representation is power, especially in today’s society ruled by technology and social media,” she explained.
“What we are exposed to on our televisions, in our movie theaters and Netflix queues, can have a direct correlation to how we view ourselves and the world around us,” she added.
”As I was coming to terms with my bisexuality, I saw few—if any—characters that I could relate to, and those that I did see were almost always portrayed in a negative light.”
The author also clarified that she is not requesting the studio to cast a female romantic lead for “Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot, but rather just give recognition to her bisexuality.
“Making Wonder Woman canonically bisexual on the big screen would make her the first openly LGBTQ superhero of any gender from either DC or Marvel’s cinematic universes, and would solidify her place as a true role model for women of all ages and identities,” she said.
