Megastar Sharon Cuneta has made countless movies through the decades and most of them have held a special place in her heart. However, in a recent Instagram post, she uploaded collaged photo stills from her 1989 classic movie “Oras-oras, Araw-araw,” saying shooting the movie was one of the happiest moments in her life.
She wrote, “This time in my life, when I was shooting ‘Oras-Oras, Araw-Araw,’ will easily always be one of the top three happiest in my whole lifetime, in both my career and personal life. Especially in my personal life. So, so, so in love…”
She did not elaborate, but it was at this time when a very young Sharon was at the peak of her career and had a colorful personal life.
“Oras-oras, Araw-araw” was a movie she made with her aunt Helen Gamboa, the younger sister of her mom, Elaine Cuneta. In the movie, Cuneta played the lost daughter of Gamboa. They would eventually reunite, thanks to Cuneta’s work as a television personality.
Meanhwile, in a guesting at “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” the actress-singer turned emotional when she was asked who she missed the most, and answered that besides her parents, she missed her younger self.
“I miss you daddy, daddy I miss you so much, I miss my life with you, I miss Dasma, I miss being your child, I miss little Sharon, I miss Sharon in her 20s. I miss you Mama Mina, my mommy ko, I miss you, I miss me, I miss being free to be me,” she said.
She starred in her first movie “Dear Heart” in 1981 and from then on, transformed into one of the most famous young stars of the ’80s. Her star shone brighter starring in blockbuster movies after blockbuster movies. In 1986, she starred in her very own hit variety show “The Sharon Cuneta Show,” which ran until 1997.
It was also in the ’80s ’till the early ’90s that her love life blossomed. She was married to her first on-screen partner Gabby Concepcion in 1984, but they separated a few years later. She was then involved with actors Richard Gomez and Robin Padilla. In 1996 when she got married to Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
In her concert last year at the Solaire, she admitted she almost married Padilla. She shared that they really fell in love when they were doing the 1991 smash hit “Maging Sino Ka Man.” However, she found out he got someone pregnant, so she backed out. /ra
