The funny thing is that, the girls don’t look for their father (Cesar Montano),” revealed actress Sunshine Cruz about their kids.

“He can see them anytime he wants to, as long as their school schedule permits. I just don’t see the effort from him,” the 40-year-old actress added.

Sunshine has three daughters with estranged husband Cesar, namely: Angelina, 15; Samantha, 13; and Francheska, 11.

“I don’t think there is a mother who doesn’t want her daughters to have a good relationship with their dad. This has been my only prayer,” she told reporters recently. “I have nothing more to ask for myself. I just pray for him to support our children. After all, they’re good kids—and they’re his legitimate children.”

On her love life, Sunshine said she still wasn’t ready to go public about her relationship with new beau Macky Mathay.

“There were bashers in the beginning, but we’re OK as long as we’re not hurting other people,” the actress said.

Macky, who is Ara Mina’s half-brother, has three children with ex-wife Camille Fariñas.

Sunshine said the girls now have a good relationship with their “Tito Macky.” “Before they personally met him, they were already friends with him on social media. My daughters and Macky’s kids hit it off immediately. It was surprising, but beautiful.”

Right now, Sunshine said she and Macky are at a stage when they’re “just enjoying each other’s company—and you know you have each other’s back.”

Sunshine also said she fully supports her eldest daughter’s decision to enter show biz. “I also started at 15. I always remind her to be professional, to be focused when it comes to singing and performing, but also to not forget her studies. She is an honor student at De La Salle (Zobel),” the mom said.

“She and her younger sisters are still my babies. They still sleep beside me. Of course, I know that (having suitors) will eventually come, because she’s pretty! My own mom felt helpless when boys started making their presence felt around me. She cried so much on my wedding day,” Sunshine pointed out. “Our deal is that they should all be open to me so that I will be able to give them advice.”

Sunshine recently signed a talent management contract with Arnold Vegafria. This was a month after her longtime manager and mentor, Alfie Lorenzo, passed away due to heart attack.
