Halle taps into her geeky side

Halle Berry portrays tech guru Agent Ginger Ale in Matthew Vaughn’s “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” which begins its theatrical run on Sept. 20. “In the franchise, she’s the female version of Mark Strong’s Merlin,” the Oscar-winning actress disclosed.

But, is Halle tech-minded like Ginger? “Not really. But, I am someone who’s very involved in what’s happening now,” she said. “I have two young children, so staying abreast of all that is key.

I’ve never played a techie before, but I’ve learned a lot from Mark. Ginger is known for her technical expertise, and she’s also a doctor. Matthew told me this movie would be her introduction to the series—and, if it goes to a third or fourth installment, she’d play a very significant role.”
