Basti, Radha reveal their musical influences

Basti Artadi and Radha Cuadrado shared with the Inquirer their biggest musical influences, how they fell in love with them, and how they continue to be inspired by them.

Basti Artadi: James Hetfield of Metallica for his singing style, his lyrics and his overall aura. His dating was just spot-on angas!

Also, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, for his live performances, and the way he stuck to his ideals. These helped him build a tremendous, worldwide fan base that’s still there to this day!

Radha Cuadrado: It would have to be Aretha Franklin and Prince.

Aretha’s vocals inspired me with how she incorporated soul, R&B and gospel into her style of singing. I feel every note she sings. For Prince, it was the way he wrote songs with soul, and for musical versatility—qualities that made his music provocative and truthful at the same time. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
