Actor Ian Veneracion recalls the “boring years” he spent outside show business as a child.
“I left the business after doing ‘Joey and Son.’ I was 8 then. I came back when I was 11 because I missed it. I got used to the adult jokes of (costar) Joey de Leon and (director) Al Quinn. They thought I was too young to understand, but I would laugh at them secretly. Then, when I was in school, I’d deliver the jokes like I was the coolest guy around. I eventually got bored with my life then, because my world had just been my classmates and myself. In this biz, I get to meet people from all walks of life—and from all genders.” —MARINEL CRUZ
