This snapshot is a 1970s geeky kid’s dream come true. Wonder Woman bumped into Bionic Woman at the Comic Con Palm Springs last month.
Lindsay Wagner, aka Jamie Sommers or “The Bionic Woman,” posted her photo with Lynda Carter, aka Diana Prince or “Wonder Woman,” on her Facebook page recently and, as expected, fans went wild with nostalgia.
A middle-aged netizen recounted that he had met “these incredible women” at the event. He recalled how a teenaged girl, dressed as the superheroine, had “trembled” upon meeting Lynda. He likewise admitted that Lindsay had also left him “trembling.” “During a difficult childhood, her humanity gave me hope, her vulnerability gave me strength and her philosophy gave me inspiration.”
Another post hailed the dynamic duo as “SHEroes.”
In a caption for a Facebook photo with a wee boy at the Comic Con (where she also had a Q&A session), Lindsay expressed wonderment: “The fans seem to be getting younger and younger.”
Wrestler-actress and self-confessed admirer Melina Perez related that she finally had the chance to meet Lynda backstage at the latter’s concert at the Comic Con. “I got to tell her my story, how much she meant to me. She was a sweetheart.”
Not a few followers hoped for a crossover movie starring the two SHEroes. Lynda topbilled the “Wonder Woman” TV series from 1975 to 1979; while Lindsay starred in “The Bionic Woman” from 1976 to 1978.
