Gerald supports gov’t stand on Spratlys

Gerald Anderson

Before show business beckoned, Gerald Anderson once dreamt of following in the footsteps of his father, Captain Gerald Anderson Sr., by becoming a soldier himself.

The actor, who claims to have high regard for Filipino soldiers, especially those patrolling the Spratly group of islands, shares his view on the territorial dispute with China.

“Thinking about it, I realized that it really doesn’t feel right if a stranger enters your home and starts rummaging through your things, and then tries to get them without your permission. But we still have to do what’s right—we cannot start a war. I guess we just have to trust the administration. They’re doing their best. I’m a supportive citizen. I try to help in my own little way.”
