Youtube star Wil Dasovich opens up on cancer diagnosis
Wil Dasovich announced on his Youtube vlog that he has been diagnosed with cancer.
The travel vlogger, 25, shared a video reflecting on his life’s work since he moved from the United States to the Philippines.
He recounted his travels in Southeast Asia and falling in love with the Philippines, where he settled down and started out working in commercials.
He did stints in local showbiz and was once a “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate, but eventually decided to get into vlogging.
Dasovich started with a series called “The Art of Tagalog” where he related how he learned the language, including speaking gay lingo or Bekinese.
His vlogs have since expanded to Filipino culture, traveling the country, and even making celebrity friends. He has earned a strong following on Youtube with nearly 590,000 subscribers.

“Are you satisfied with the way you’ve lived your life and have you maximized your experiences? My answer to that question is yes. That’s why I’m content with my condition and the hardships I face,” he shared in his latest video.
He says it won’t stop him from vlogging as it’s his “main source of happiness.”
“As tough as it was for me to take that in, it’s not going to stop me from having fun, being myself, and continuing to do what makes me happy,” the vlogger declared.
He thanked his audience for their support: “I truly love each and every one of you. I’m overwhelmingly grateful for helping me to get to this point in my life and making it everything it was, making it everything it is.”
He also shared his dream to have one million subscribers, which has led to the hashtag #1milforWil.
“If there’s one thing to take away from this video, it’s to experience as much as possible in the amount of time that you have,” Wil mused. “As you all age you’ll eventually come to the realization that you’ll be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the things you did do.” JB
