The three RnB royalties—Jay R, Billy Crawford and Kris Lawrence—join forces to set the stage on fire in their much-awaited “Soul Brothers” concert on Sept. 15 at the Kia Theater.
With each of them having “last song syndrome”-worthy hits, the show will serve as a throwback to their soulful and RnB classics that hit across all generations.
“It’s for all ages eh, families can actually watch, ‘yung mga ka-edad namin (those who are our age) or even older makaka-relate sa mga kakantahin namin, meron din naman ung mga baguhan makaka-relate din naman.” Crawford said in Thursday’s press conference.
Among their guest performers are their close friends Daryl Ong, Sam Concepcion, Jay Durias and Gloc 9.
More than their respective musical talents, it’s their longstanding friendship that has kept them together all these years.
They recently appeared on comedian Vice Ganda’s hit Sunday comedy show, “Gandang Gabi Vice.”
Soul Brothers history
The Soul Brothers concept started with their first show in Guam. “We were all part of that first show. Then the second show was in New York, but only Kris and I were able to go,” Jay R explained.
But now, the King of RnB promises to make this edition more memorable and different.
“This edition will be more special because we are home in Manila. We have more room to play around with our stage and concepts. For sure there will be duets and collabs between the three of us,” he said.
Plans are also underway for a Soul Brothers concert tour abroad.
Jay R confirmed, “We already have a Soul Brothers show in San Francisco on October 6, Los Angeles on October 7, San Diego on October 8 and we’re finalizing a few more cities in the US and Canada, and possibly UAE.”
