Kapamilya actor Janus del Prado seems to enjoy taking a trip down memory lane. This time he shared some throwback photos of him with fellow cast members of 1997 classic hit movie “Magic Kingdom.”
The movie is a fantasy adventure that serves as a sequel to the 1996 fantasy hit “Magic Temple.”
The story basically revolves around the fictional kingdom of “Damortis” once run by good-natured ruler Empress Sofia played by actress Maricel Laxa.
Eventually, she would be ordered killed by her own brother, Basilicus, played by the late award-winning actor Mark Gil.
Heir to the throne, Princess Dahlia, played by then 12-year old showbiz starter Anne Curtis would escape the kingdom to save her life. Her adventures would eventually lead her to her three heroes–Jobert, Samuel and Oman. All three were given life by actors Jason Salcedo, Junell Hernando and Del Prado.
To commemorate the glory of the film, Del Prado shared to the public old photos of the cast. Taking from this one, all four lead stars were an epitome of true ’90s fashion. It also shows a very young Anne Curtis who is now one of the most sought-after actresses of this generation.
The three heroes–Hernando, Del Prado and Salcedo–were, needless to say, handsome escorts.
The photo below shows the main cast being joined by other notable ’90s child stars Tom Taus and Jomari Uy.
The “Magic Kingdom” cast happily bagged an award at the 1997 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
In another post the cast is shown sharing a meal together with Curtis in her Princess Dahlia costume with her crown still on her head.

One post shows an ensemble of ’90s stars including former teen sensation Antoinette Taus.
In the photo below, Hernando, Salcedo and Del Prado are shown in their combat costumes while Curtis is in her princess look.
Of course, the movie would not be complete without the mythical characters in the story just like the monster guards and the “Babbit” who describes himself as a half-pig, half-rabbit creature.
Del Prado surely did some good throwback digging when he pulled off an old movie billboard ad.
Janus del Prado usually carried the hashtag #pambansangbestfriend in his posts. True enough, he has played the best friend role in a number of movies such as “One More Chance” and “Catch Me I’m In Love.”
Any ’90s baby would surely know about . It was certainly one of the most remembered movies of the decade.
Produced by Neo Films, “Magic Kingdom” was directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes. /ra
