I call Dingdong Dantes “amigo” and he calls me “amiga.” Our friendship is devoid of anything show biz. I’m happy that Dong is on the scene again with the return of the hit series “Alyas Robin Hood” whose Season Two premieres tonight on GMA 7.
Dong returns as former vigilante Pepe de Jesus, who’s now a lawyer who takes on pro bono cases to help the poor.
Here’s my chat with Dong:
What were your realizations as you turned a year wiser? That I just like to lead a simple life, and that time well spent with family is better than money well spent elsewhere.
What’s the most challenging part of your marriage? Raising our baby, balancing work and family time.
Do TV ratings matter to you? Of course, the rating of a show is important. But I won’t let it pressure me too much—it might make me lose focus.
As long as I give my all to the show, the ratings will follow.
What’s your warning to future suitors of Baby Zia?
I wish Z could be a baby forever, so I would be the only man in her life (laughs).
Kiss and make up
How do you and Yan kiss and make up? We just say “I love you” and make each other feel that we really mean it.
Won’t Yan get jealous of your leading ladies Andrea Torres and Solenn Heussaff? There’s no room for jealousy in our marriage. Besides, we understand the nature of our job as actors.
Fatherhood moment
What’s your favorite fatherhood moment so far? When I wake up, and I hear Z call my name.
Do you have unsolicited advice to husbands who have mistresses? I’m not in a position to answer that. And I will never be in that position (laughs).
What’s left on your bucket list? Fly a plane.
