James Yap and partner Michela “Mic” Cazzola celebrated their son MJ’s first year in a low-key celebration.

MJ (short for Michael James) got a sweet new ride from his Ninong Jeffrey Yap and Ninang Pritz Chua, his dad’s close friends. MJ seemed extra-excited about it—the minicar even blasted music.

The birthday boy also had a selection of birthday cakes to choose from: decadent flavors included Belgian chocolate, rocky road and salted caramel pecan cheesecake, his mom shared.

MJ is the cager’s third child and counts as siblings Bimby Aquino-Yap and an older child whose identity remains private.
James was previously married to media personality Kris Aquino. Their seven-year marriage was annulled in 2012 after allegations of infidelity. Following the annulment, he lost custody of Bimby, who spends most of his time with mom Kris.
Mic has been working at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as a secretariat specialist. She and James met back in 2012 and went public in 2013. The family of three took MJ to her home country for a visit in June.

According to Kris, Mic reached out to her and sons Josh and Bimby so that they could meet baby MJ. “We are good friends with Mic. We like her,” Kris told PEP in April. /ra
