One of Usher’s accusers has come forward to accuse the R&B artist of failing to disclose his sexually transmitted disease (STD) prior to sexual encounters.

Quantasia Sharpton, with lawyer Lisa Bloom, held a press conference in New York City to reveal her experience with the singer. She said she was speaking on behalf of herself and “others, some of whom are positive and are embarrassed to speak out publicly.”

She claimed that she had sex with Usher after attending his concert and after being told to go backstage because she was wearing a birthday crown. She said she was asked to give her number.

“After the show, I got a call on a blocked number asking me what hotel I was staying in,” related Sharpton. “About an hour later, he arrived. We spoke for a while and then we engaged in sexual contact.”

“He never warned me about any STDs,” the accuser, a mother of one, said. “It was just after my 19th birthday. I never heard from him again.”

Sharpton said she tested negative for herpes a year ago. However, she said she was filing the lawsuit because “I would never have considered [having sex with Usher] if I had known. I would not have taken the risk of getting an incurable disease.”

She also called on Usher to respond to the allegations and to verify if he tested positive or negative for the STD.

Bloom said in the press conference, “The law requires people with herpes warn their sexual partners or abstain from sex. Those are the only two choices.”

In California, it is illegal to transmit an STD recklessly or knowingly.

“News reports can be wrong, but only medical tests can answer the question here,” stated Bloom.

People reported that the lawsuit had been filed by three people: two females with whom he allegedly had vaginal sex and one male who claimed he had oral sex with him.

The lawsuit is the most recent in a string of accusations that Usher had an STD and did not inform sexual partners about it.

The basis of the claims that the singer had an STD is a report from Radar Online that in 2012, Usher settled $1.1 million and paid the medical bills of a woman who contracted herpes from the “Confessions” singer.

Neither Usher nor his wife, Grace Miguel, has commented on the controversy.

Herpes can go unnoticed for years and it can be difficult to pinpoint the person who has transmitted it.  Niña V. Guno /ra
