Jay-Z calls Chris Martin ‘a genius’

Jay-Z has described his friend Chris Martin “a genius,” even going as far as comparing the Coldplay frontman to William Shakespeare.

And no, their closeness has nothing to do with the effusive praise, Jay-Z told Metro newspaper.

“I have been in the industry long enough to know when I’m in the presence of a genius, and he’s just that,” the hip-hop luminary said of Chris, whom he has collaborated and performed with in the past.

“In years to come, Britain will look back at him as a modern-day Shakespeare. He’s an incredible recording artist and songwriter,” Jay-Z added. “But where he really comes alive is performing live.”

Meanwhile, Chris recently paid homage to Linkin Park’s late lead vocalist, Chester Bennington, by performing a stripped-down version of the song, “Crawling,” in a concert in New Jersey. “This is for anyone who’s missing someone,” he said.

In a recent interview with iHeartRadio’s Elvin Duran, Demi Lovato admitted that people constantly reminding her of her condition bothers her.

“When people refer to me as being bipolar, it’s something that’s true—I’m bipolar. But I don’t like people to use it as a label,” Demi said. “It’s something that I have. It’s not who I am.”

In late 2010, the pop star was diagnosed with the said mental disorder, after seeking help for her depression, tendencies to harm herself and eating problems. Now, she’s in a better place.

“I’m in a place in my life where I feel like I have learned so much, and I’m going to continue to learn. I feel like I’m just smack dab in the middle of my journey,” adding that she wants to continue using her platform to help educate people about the importance of taking care of one’s mental health.
