Usher threatened with new lawsuit for allegedly not disclosing he had STD during sex

A celebrity lawyer claims she will file a lawsuit against Usher for three people who allege that he failed to disclose that he had a sexually transmitted disease during sexual contact.

Attorney Lisa Bloom stated that she will hold a press conference in New York on Monday where one accuser will speak. The two others remain anonymous as Jane Doe and John Doe.

This will be Usher’s alleged third lawsuit; the first two remain unconfirmed.

Radar Online reported the first supposed lawsuit which cited that the “Yeah” and “Burn” singer settled $1.1 million in 2012 with a woman, after she had unprotected sex with him and contracted herpes.

According to TMZ, on July 2017, another woman demanded $20 million after she tested positive for herpes. The Jane Doe accuses the former “The Voice” judge for transmitting it after having unprotected sex in Atlanta earlier this year.

There are mixed reactions to the allegations, with some siding with the accusers, while others state this is simply a ploy for money, given that the symptoms can go unnoticed and that it is difficult to pinpoint who passed it on. Even using a condom during sex will not necessarily prevent it, as it can be orally transmitted.

STD awareness advocates like Jenelle Marie Pierce also cite that lawsuits like these raise the stigma against herpes. While individuals with STDs should disclose any existing diseases to partners, negative attitudes arising from cases like such can make them feel ashamed and force them to hide diseases instead.

As of this writing, Usher and his wife since 2015, music executive Grace Miguel, have not yet commented on the allegations. Niña V. Guno/JB
