Talent manager Alfie Lorenzo passes away at 78

(Updated, 12:38 p.m.) Veteran talent manager and entertainment columnist Alfie Lorenzo passed away on Tuesday, his relatives said. He was 78.

Lorenzo’s relatives said that he died at around 2 a.m. due to a heart attack.

Lorenzo’s brother, Dan, said in an interview with radio station DZMM that the wake would be at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.

Initial reports said wakes would be held in Quezon City and Pampanga.

“Sabi nga nu’ng kaibigan nila, nagpahinga na siya, ganun lang, ‘yung hindi na siya naratay sa ospital ganon… Maraming salamat, kahit paano, mahirap parin magpigil ka nu’ng luha. Maraming salamat sa mga kaibigan niya lalo na sa showbiz,” Dan said.

(As his friends would put it, he is now resting, whereas he could have been having a difficult time at the hospital. We are thankful, although we are just trying not to cry. We are thankful to his friends, especially those from showbiz.)

Actress Judy Ann Santos, Lorenzo’s former talent, is also helping with the funeral arrangements.

In an Instagram post, Santos said that they “are just coordinating the wake details with the family as (they) would want to be faithful to his last requests.”

Aside from Santos, actresses Sunshine Cruz and Ruffa Guttierez were among the celebrities managed by the late Lorenzo. IDL
