South Korean-American hip-hop star Jay Park has joined the panel of judges on Asia’s Got Talent Season 2.

In a press event held in Singapore last week, Park remarked that he would not sugarcoat his comments on the show. “I’m definitely going to be well-mannered and respecting. But I’m not the type to say whatever just to be nice. You have to be real with these people in order to really help them. Sugarcoating things is not going to help them,” said Park as quoted by The Straits Times.

The co-CEO of Korean music label AOMG and former leader of K-pop group 2PM will judge the show alongside musician David Foster and Indonesia-born singer Anggun.

Park displayed his skill as a judge in Korean hip-hop contest TV show Show Me the Money in 2015. He will reportedly be returning as a judge in the show later this year.

The singer also recently signed with Roc Nation, a label founded by hip-hop artist Jay-Z in 2008 that manages Rihanna, Shakira and J.Cole. Billboard reported that Park was the first Asian-American to do so.

Asia’s Got Talent Season 2 is scheduled to air on pay TV channel AXN in October in a 10-episode format. The show’s contestants will compete for a grand prize of US$100,000.
