It was the second half of 2016 when South Korean broadcasting station MBC aired one of its much-awaited dramas called “W – Two Worlds”, and until now, some of its viewers are still having a hangover from it.
You might wonder: what’s to love in the series? Is it worth the time? Here, we give you three reasons to watch it in Viu:
1. Watching it is hitting “Two Worlds” in one sitting.
Aside from having Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo as leads, the drama was praised for having a unique premise.
It started when surgeon Oh Yeon-joo’s (played by Han Hyo-joo) father went missing while writing the last chapter of his famous web-cartoon series “W”. Yeon-joo went to his office and found his father’s computer showing a scene where Kang Cheol (played by Lee Jong-suk), the main character of the webtoon, is seems to be dying. Searching further, she found a note by her father and while she’s reading it, a hand suddenly appeared from the computer and pulled her. Next thing she knew, she’s on top of a building with a man beside her, bleeding profusely. She saved the man and found out he was Kang Cheol. Yeon-joo realized that she already entered the bittersweet world of the Webtoon that her father created, and the only way she can escape depends on Kang Cheol’s feelings.
2. It got a lot of “seal of approvals.”
Written by Song Jae-jung, the series has won several awards, proving its quality. It won Special Jury award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. It was also hailed by 36th MBC Drama Awards as 2016 Drama of the Year, while Lee Jong Suk won the Grand Prize (Daesang)for being the lead actor. Meanwhile, Han Hyo-joo got the Top Excellence Award for Actress in a Miniseries in the 5th APAN Star Awards for her role as Oh Yeon-joo.
3. Viu has a Tagalized version
Here are some more good news. One is that you can binge-watch it this weekend on Viu because the series is already in its vast library of Asian dramas. Second, stop worrying because you don’t need to watch and read subtitles at the same time: the show is now available with Tagalog dubbing.
