We’re used to seeing Jackie Chan portray good old natured characters on the big screen, but his latest film offers a much darker side of the legendary action star.
The 63-year-old Hog Kong actor stars in “The Foreigner,” which netizens are now comparing to the “Taken” and “John Wick” franchises.
According to Forbes, Chan takes on the role of London restaurant owner Ngoc Minh Quan, who seeks to track down the terrorists that killed his daughter
He enlists the aid of British government official Liam Hennessey (played by Pierce Brosnan), only to find out that he had something to do with the attack.
Chan is seen as a battered man at the end of the clip, after going through a one-man rampage against an array of seemingly endless adversaries.
“The Foreigner” is based on Stephen Leather’s novel The Chinaman and was helmed by “Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell.
The film debuts in cinemas on Oct. 13. Khristian Ibarrola /ra
