What has actress Maine Mendoza learned from “Eat Bulaga!,” the long-running noontime show that will celebrate its 38th year on July 29? “It has taught me to believe in myself,” the actress told the Inquirer. “It helps boost my confidence. I realized I could accomplish things I didn’t think I was capable of doing.

“‘Bulaga’ encourages me to try out different things and pushes me to ‘stretch’ beyond my perceived skills. ’Yung mga bagay na akala ko hindi ko kayang gawin, kaya ko pala (The things that I thought I couldn’t do, I learned that I could).” —RITO ASILO
