After news broke last month that an R-rated “Hellboy” reboot was in the works, “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour was confirmed as assuming the role of the red-skinned anti-hero.

The 43-year-old American actor did not waste any time picking the brain of Ron Perlman, who portrayed the character twice in the big screen, in 2004 and 2008.
Along with comedian and mutual friend Patton Oswalt, the trio went to dinner last week—which Perlman shared on his Facebook account.
Speaking to Yahoo News, Harbour detailed how the meet up came about, and he had nothing but nice words for the “Sons of Anarchy” star.
“Patton brokered a peace; it was incredible,” he said.“I had reached out to Ron because I’m a big fan of his. He’s a really sweet guy and we wanted to just talk shop, and I just thought Patton Oswalt would be the perfect chaperone in case Ron and I started to make out or we started dancing too close or if we started getting in a fistfight,” he jokingly said.
Perlman, for his part, seemed to be quite fond of his successor as well.
“David Harbour is a good dude, man,” he was quoted as saying during a panel at Motor City Comicon in May, as relayed by the news outlet. “I have nothing but love for that dude. I wish him nothing but the best when it comes to the retooling of HB.”
Harbour’s take on the heroic, cigar-smoking half-demon is expected to come out next year with Neil Marshall at the helm.
