Harry Styles is set to return to the Philippines—this time around, as a solo act.
The British pop star, who previously performed in Manila two years ago as a member of the wildly popular boy band One Direction, is set to take the stage at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on May 1, 2018, local promoter MMI Live said in a recent announcement.
Tickets—which cost P1,325 to P6,890—will go on sale starting June 19 (call 470-2222).
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter’s Manila stop is part of his first world tour, which currently has 85 dates, and will kick off in North America in September this year.
Harry, who is one of the two breakout stars from One Direction—the other one being Zayn Malik—released last month his eponymous debut album, which is primarily soft rock-inspired, with hints of folk and country.
The album’s lead single, the ballad “Sign of the Times,” reached No. 1 in his native United Kingdom, and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 100 chart in the United States. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
