Seeing with their hearts

/ 10:56 PM December 02, 2011

Anderson Go is the founder and musical director of the Ambassadors of Light choir, whose members are visually impaired. He proves that blindness need not be a hindrance to independence and success. Through their songs, the Ambassadors bring happiness to others.

Dr. Helena Benitez has a real affinity with the choir’s members, because her vision is also partially impaired. Makati Medical Center has put up the Helena Benitez Eye Clinic, where poor people with vision problems go for appropriate treatment for free.

The Ambassadors of Light “see” with their hearts. Members, aged from 9 to 29, aim to attain education and music training under the helm of Anderson Go. Recently, AOL held a concert at Philamlife Theater, with the support of Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.

Go provides scholarships for visually impaired and musically inclined indigents. To help AOL’s “Adopt A Scholar” Program or invite the group to perform, contact Gerry Tiongson Osias at 0917 655-6298 or 896-0787.
