With so many stars and starlets avidly angling for attention in show business, luminaries really have to bustle and hustle to stay in the public eye.

Nora Aunor has made her fans ecstatic by finally doing something to fix her compromised vocal cords, which have sidelined her musical career for far too long.

Thanks to some supportive followers’ backing, she’s gone abroad to remedy the problem, and hopes are high that she can sing in public again later this year.

For her part, Liza Soberano is flying high due to the success of her recent big-screen starrer, plus reports that she has been tapped to be the movies’ latest Darna.

In addition, Liza is playing Pia Wurtzbach in a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” bio-drama. Her cup runneth over!

On the hit teleserye, “Ang Probinsyano,” a new “chapter” has just been launched, with a new plotline involving a rebel band led by Lito Lapid on belated comeback mode, with John Arcilla and Angel Aquino playing the government officials bent on foiling his violent schemes.

Let’s hope that it will sustain viewers’ intense interest and attention, as the action-drama series eases into its second year.

At this writing, it isn’t clear how the series’ resident hero, played by Coco Martin, will end up joining the fray.

He has resigned as a cop, opted for a peaceful life, married Yassi Pressman, and they now have a young son.

What will it take for Coco’s character to give up that love-filled and peaceful life, and opt to get into the line of fire again?

On the indie film scene, the good news is that Sharon Cuneta has started shooting her latest starrer, “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha,” megged by Mes de Guzman.

The Megastar should be cited for boosting the indie movement with her supportive and attention-calling move.

It would have been better if she had completed her weight-loss regimen before shooting began, so her new film would have more definitively marked the strong revival of her stellar career. But, this isn’t a perfect world, so let’s just take the bad with the good.

That also goes for Sharon’s private life, which has taken a troubled turn of late. But, the most important consideration is that the Megastar has finally resumed acting, and could gift her fans with a memorable portrayal soon.

As for her woes, Sharon has survived her share of low blows for decades now, so she should survive this latest test of character and true grit, as well.
