An English subtitled trailer of the upcoming movie adaptation of “Tokyo Ghoul” was recently shown during a livestream press event.

The event was held Friday, June 2, and featured director Kentaro Hagiwara, actor Masataka Kubota who plays Ken Kaneki in the movie, and original “Tokyo Ghoul” manga creator Sui Ishida. The livestream also included an English interpretation, reports Comic Natalie via Anime News Network.

It was also announced that the movie will be premiering on July at Anime Expo Los Angeles. Additionally, it was confirmed that the movie will be released in most Asian countries, including the Philippines. However, an exact date has yet to be mentioned.

“Tokyo Ghoul” follows the story of Ken Kaneki who narrowly survives an encounter with a flesh eating “ghoul” that was hunting him. He is then transformed into a half-ghoul and must now come to terms with the new world that he must inhabit. In this alternate reality, ghouls mingle with modern society and look no different than regular people, except that they only have the appetite for human flesh. Alfred Bayle/JB
