Judging by her magnificent display of pure athleticism, Jessie Graff, by all means, should be considered a real-life superhero.
The stunt woman, who serves as body double for actress Melissa Benoist in “Supergirl,” made headlines recently for her astonishing run in the hit sports competition “American Ninja Warrior.”
In a sport mostly dominated by male competitors, the 33-year-old American proved her mettle by blazing through a series of difficult obstacle courses in the show’s upcoming season 9 of the USA vs. The World special.
Along with teammates Drew Dreschel and Josh Levin, she went up against “ninjas” from Latin America and Europe.
After being the first woman to complete Stage 1 of the competition last season, Graff represented Team USA and took on the immensely challenging Stage 2.
She jumped, leaped and sprinted her way to the finish en route to setting another record for women competitors. In the process, she conquered daunting obstacles including the ring swing, salmon ladder and wave runner.
When asked afterwards what her victory meant for women competitors all over the world, Graff had a short yet meaningful response: “It says we can do anything.”
She added: “This has been such an amazing experience. It has always been a goal of mine, but I didn’t think it will happen this soon.” Khristian Ibarrola /ra
