Hollywood reports quote PDI interview

The Inquirer’s “Only In Hollywood” entertainment column’s interview with US actor Christian Bale has been quoted by the British news agency Reuters, the online Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and three US publications—Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Reporter and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

In the Nov. 26 column titled “Bale talks about his costars in ‘Dark Knight Rises,’” Bale told Inquirer’s man in Hollywood, Ruben V. Nepales, that his third performance as Gotham’s Caped Crusader could be his last.

“I wrapped a few days ago, so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl off,” Reuters, LA Times and The Hollywood Reporter said, citing Nepales’ interview conducted in Beverly Hills.

IMDb also pointed to the column in confirming Bale’s “retirement” as Batman in its story, “It’s Official: Batman Is Hanging Up His Tights.”

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette printed lengthy excerpts from Nepales’ piece, especially Bale’s statements about costars Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Nepales, the first Filipino member and director of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), a group of international journalists who vote on and present the Golden Globe Awards, was also interviewed by the American weekly entertainment-trade magazine, Variety, in its Nov. 27 issue on his most memorable press cons this year.
