Sharon Cuneta appeared to remain in high spirits amid the “fake news” circulating that she had human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

On Thursday, the Megastar brushed off the malicious report via a Facebook post.

“Basta po yung may sakit daw po akong HIV is super fake news (The talk that I have HIV is super-fake news). God have mercy on the souls of those responsible for this horrible ‘joke,'” she said.

“Excited ako [na] makita ang punishment ni Lord sa inyo (I’m excited to see God’s punishment for you)!” she joked.

She added: “Ang inaapi ay pinagpapala (Those who are oppressed are blessed)!”

Trials and hearsays have besieged Cuneta, 51, over the past few weeks. Following her cryptic Instagram post about her departure for the US to take a respite from “pain and fatigue,” rumors surfaced about Cuneta’s marital woes with Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

In a Facebook post that swept netizens like a tsunami, Cuneta said that she was in debt and was grieving over her deceased relatives and ailing aunt. She later clarified that most of her earnings were allocated to real estate investments.

Aside from coaching for ABS-CBN’s “The Voice Teens,” she is currently taping for the indie film “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
